Strong Economy

John recognizes that Central Floridians are struggling to make ends meet under the weight of Bidenomics. Prices at the pump, grocery store, and across the board are too high and once elected to the House of Representatives, John will support legislation to support working families and job creators.

As Florida’s first Puerto Rican State Representative, John made it his mission to help central Florida’s working families by supporting economic opportunity. While in Tallahassee, he led the charge to create more “Enterprise Zones,” which help create economic opportunity and even brought the first one to Osceola County. As State Representative, John also created economic opportunity across the county by supporting lower taxes and putting policies in place to attract business leaders and job creators to provide the opportunity for the dignity of work for all.

Safe Communities

Under liberal leadership we have seen violent and property crime rapidly increase in Orlando. In fact, violent and property crime is now double the rest of Florida. Once elected to the House of Representatives, John will support legislation to ensure local law enforcement officers have the resources they need to get this crime wave under control.

John understands that a community can only be kept safe when we trust our police officers who put their lives on the line every day to ensure our safety. As an Osceola County Commissioner, John prioritized regular meetings with law enforcement officers and the local community to help keep everyone informed and connected. Even while John was eliminating government waste by cutting 20 percent of the county budget, he protected the police budget and made sure all essential services were completely funded.

While in the Florida State House, John led a bill, now law, to address dangerous crimes such as drag racing which was putting our children at risk. One of his last acts in the State Legislature before becoming an Osceola County Commissioner was introducing the “Anti-Murder” Act, now law, which worked to prohibit the pretrial release of violent criminals, keeping them off the streets so that every central Floridian would be safer.

Quality Education for Central Florida’s Future

John knows that providing high-quality education to our children will allow central Florida communities to grow and prosper. Once elected to the House of Representatives, John will support initiatives to increase school choice, empower parents, and support charter schools.

While in Tallahassee, John was a champion of school choice. John voted to increase funding for charter schools, allow our community colleges to develop charter schools, and eliminate the limitations of charter schools across the state. John also voted to expand “lab schools” which are schools designed to create innovation in schools by using a wide array of educational models.
